FATHER'S FEARS OVER LINDSAY LOHAN

The father of actress Lindsay Lohan has admitted he is worried his estranged daughter could be flying off the rails.

Michael Lohan, who himself has spent time in prison for fraud and drink driving, says he hopes the 20-year-old does not make the same mistakes as he did in life.

The pair have not met for two years, but in an interview with the Daily Mirror Michael claims that he has been speaking with his daughter on the phone for the past two months.

"In one of our conversations she told me, 'Daddy, I am just like you! I am you'.

"I'm the first to admit I've made mistakes in the past – whether it was from acting out, abusing cocaine and alcohol or listening to the wrong people," he added.

"But I hope and pray my daughter learns from my mistakes. I don't want her to end up where I did."

Lindsay Lohan had her movie breakthrough in 2004's Mean Girls but has since become more well-known for her notorious partying on the Hollywood circuit.

Earlier this year the Freaky Friday star checked herself into rehab for an apparent alcohol addiction.

And her 47-year-old father, a former Wall Street trader, admits he "doesn't know what to believe" concerning the rumour mill surrounding his daughter.

"I want to look in her eyes and know the truth. I can help her in a lot of ways," he told the Mirror.
