FATBOY SLIM STILL HAUNTED BY CLUBBER'S DEATH
British DJ FATBOY SLIM still feels guilty about the death of a young party-goer at one of his gigs more than six years ago.
The music producer - real name Norman Cook - was performing on a beach in Brighton, England in 2002 when a 25-year-old fell off the promenade and died. Another man also died at the event after suffering a heart attack.
And Cook admits their deaths still haunt him.
Cook says, "The headlines were all ‘Carnage, chaos, disaster – and Norman doesn't care’. I was accused of manslaughter. I sent flowers to her funeral and her parents wrote back, saying that I shouldn't let it haunt me. They told me not to torture myself. Afterwards my neighbour Paul MCCartney told me that whenever he was getting flak #(criticism) about something he just left the country, because no one can find you and you can't read the newspapers."
