Late actor PATRICK SWAYZE was a long shot to play Sam in hit movie GHOST - because the movie's director, Jerry Zucker, and screenwriter, Bruce Joel Rubin, insisted he was the wrong man for the job. But when Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks passed on the part, they agreed to audition Swayze.
