AMERICAN IDOL star RANDY JACKSON landed his first big break when he was asked to play bass for JUDY IN DISGUISE hitmakers JOHN FRED & THE PLAYBOYS in the mid-1970s. The talent show judge also played for jazz fusion star BILLY COBHAM and rockers JOURNEY. He boasts he's either played on, written for or produced between 800 and 1,000 albums.
