A rare set of JAMES BOND novels has fetched $53,000 (GBP30,000) at auction - $18,000 (GBP10,000) more than expected. The books, including a first edition of CASINO ROYALE, had belonged to former SAS soldier Sir Fitzroy MAClean - the man believed to have been author IAN FLEMING's inspiration for the Bond character.
