Artist DAMIEN HIRST recruited famed British chef and HELL'S KITCHEN star MARCO PIERRE WHITE to buy the world's largest truffle for him at an international auction held simultaneously in China, England and Italy on Saturday (01Dec07). But White was forced to drop out of the bidding after offers topped $110,000 (GBP55,000). The white fungus eventually went to casino mogul Stanley Ho, who forked over $330,000 (GBP165,000) for the delicacy, according to the New York Post's gossip column, Page Six.
