FARRELL EXPLAINS WORKING WITH EXTREME GUITARIST

Rocker PERRY FARRELL has defended his surprise decision to work with former EXTREME guitarist NUNO BETTENCOURT in new band SATELLITE PARTY. In Jane's Addiction, Farrell was at the forefront of the late 1980s alternative rock scene, while Bettencourt's Extreme were best known for soft rock hits including More Than Words. But Farrell claims to be unaware of Bettencourt's musical past. He says, "I might have seen one of their videos back in the '80s, but I don't even remember the '80s. "I didn't know who he was. My wife dug hair metal, but it wasn't really on my radar. But, man, can he play guitar."
