FANS' FAVOURITE TODD CARTY LEAVES ICE FOR FINAL TIME

Dancing On Ice contestant Todd Carty has become the latest celebrity to leave the ITV1 show.

The former EastEnders actor had become a popular participant in recent weeks, with his accident-prone skating leading some to dub him the John Sergeant of the series, in reference to the popular Strictly Come Dancing contestant and political correspondent.

Having again been awarded the lowest scores from the judging panel, Todd and dance partner Susie Lipanova finally found themselves in the bottom two after the public vote.

And with four of the five judges choosing to save former rugby league player Ellery Hanley and partner Frankie Poultney, Todd skated his final ice dance.

"I'd like to thank every one of the British public from the bottom of my heart," the ex-Grange Hill star said.

"I'm going to have a rest and maybe try another sport."
