'FAMILY ILLNESS' FORCES USHER TO CANCEL PRE-GRAMMYS SHOW

USHER was forced to pull out of CLIVE DAVIS' pre-Grammy Awards party due to a family crisis.The R&B superstar was expected to perform at the tribute bash for the revered music mogul on Saturday (07Feb09) night alongside Whitney Houston and Jennifer Hudson.
But Davis told the star-studded audience Usher wouldn't be appearing, explaining the star's mother-manager had cited a "serious illness in the family" as the reason behind the missed appearance.
According to Access Hollywood, Usher's wife Tamika Foster had reportedly suffered complications following alleged cosmetic surgery in Brazil.
A representative for the star has refused to comment any further on the reports.
