FAMILY GUY CREATOR STRIKES $100 MILLION DEAL WITH FOX
FAMILY GUY creator SETH MACFARLANE has signed a $100 million (GBP50 million) deal with 20th Century Fox, in a move which will make him the highest-paid writer-producer in television.
The agreement will see MACFarlane stay at the company until 2012, covering his work on cartoon Family Guy and his two other animated series with Fox - American Dad and Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland Show.
The deal is also reported to include new projects related to the TV series as well as gaining MACFarlane a cut of DVD and merchandising revenue.
If the $100 million reports are true, MACFarlane's contract will eclipse the deal struck by Lost Creator J.J. Abrams with Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros TV in 2006 for a reported $60 million (GBP30 million).
