FALL OUT BOY AND MILEY CYRUS TO HEADLINE BBC SWITCH EVENT

US rockers Fall Out Boy and teen queen Miley Cyrus are to headline BBC Switch Live, the first live event for the BBC's new multi-platform teen brand.

Pete Wentz and co, along with Cyrus in her first UK appearance as herself, rather than her TV alter ego Hannah Montana, will take to the stage at London's Hammersmith Apollo on Sunday October 12th.

Other artists taking part in the event include Ne-Yo, McFly, Basshunter, R 'n' B trio N-Dubz and Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson.

And for fans unable to attend the star-studded show, Switch Live will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1, from 19:00 BST until 22:00.

"I'm delighted to be able to bring our audience BBC Switch Live," said Geoffrey Goodwin, head of BBC Switch, said. "It's our first foray into live events with a line-up that is truly spectacular and musically diverse."

"We have so many great artists and I'm particularly proud that BBC Switch will be the host of Miley Cyrus' first UK appearance as a megastar artist in her own right."

He added: "This event is the next stage in the BBC Switch story and I couldn't be more excited!"

Cyrus, meanwhile, commented: "I can't wait to get back to London and perform some of my very own tracks at the Switch gig in Hammersmith.

"London is one of my favourite cities and my friend Pete Wentz will be there so we're gonna have a lot of fun."
