FAITHFULL GRATEFUL FOR SUPPORT FROM EX BOYFRIEND JAGGER

Singer and actress MARIANNE FAITHFULL is grateful her recent breast cancer battle brought her back into contact with former flame SIR MICK JAGGER. The British star was forced to postpone her world tour when she was diagnosed with the disease last September (06) - but was given the all-clear from doctors at the end of 2006. And despite being relieved the ordeal is over, she is pleased her life-threatening condition reconnected her with her ROLLING STONE ex, who telephoned his support straight after she had undergone surgery. Faithfull says, "All the time I was thinking, this is so kind. He hadn't called me for 35 years and here he was on the phone, making sure I was OK. "I didn't expect him to contact me and I was extremely touched that he'd made the effort to call. He's a good man. "He loves me and I love him. The fact that our relationship ended in 1970 doesn't matter. If you love someone, you love each other forever - it never stops. "I found out later that Mick had phoned around agents and all my friends to get my number in the clinic. He went to a lot of trouble. That's a classy guy."
