FACINELLI THANKS FANS FOR TWITTER HELP

TWILIGHT star PETER FACINELLI caused pandemonium in Hollywood on Tuesday (30Jul09) as he staged an impromptu autographing session to thank his fans for helping him land 500,000 followers on his Twitter.com blog as part of a bet.
The actor bet pal Rob DeFranco he could use the online social network to boost his popularity - and offered his friend the fabric from his director's chair from the set of his Twilight sequel New Moon if he failed.
The actor, who is married to 90210 star Jennie Garth, won the bet, gaining half a million followers in just three days last month (Jun09) - and he signed autographs for his adoring fans at Los Angeles clothing store Affliction on Tuesday (30Jun09) to say thanks.
DeFranco was left red faced after losing the bet - he had to dance along Hollywood Boulevard wearing just a bikini.
Facinelli cheered his pal on on Tuesday morning before the signing session.
The actor tells People.com, "I kind of took this little bet, that was a silly little thing and I tried to make something positive out of it."
Clothing store Affliction donated $10,000 (£6,666) to the Christopher Reeve Foundation on behalf of Facinelli's Twitter followers.
