EUROVISION BOSSES SLAM BBC FOR 'CONCEALING' SINGERS

LATEST: Eurovision Song Contest bosses have criticised the BBC for concealing SCOOCH's backing singers during the televised MAKING YOUR MIND UP contest on Saturday (17MAR07). Bandmembers DAVID DUCASSE, RUSSELL SPENCER, CAROLINE BARNES and NATALIE POWERS performed FLYING THE FLAG (FOR YOU) on Saturday's show, but had the vocal support of two additional singers concealed backstage. Eurovision executives insisted the broadcaster was obliged to be "transparent" due to the nature of the TV show - which saw the group win viewers' vote for the musical act which would represent the UK at the final in Helsinki, Finland on 12 May (07). But Scooch singer Ducasse alleged the two female backing singers were hidden off-stage "because they might end up being crushed by one of the trolleys we used".
