MELISSA ETHERIDGE received a very special gift on her 17th birthday - the knowledge she was a lesbian. The singer/songwriter reveals that was the first time she kissed a girl, and she knew immediately she way gay. She says, "I'd kissed a lot of boys and it was like, 'OK,' and then the first time I kissed a girl, it was like, 'Pow!' which is the way it should be."

Talk about misrepresenting a statement. Melissa acknowledged her sexuality at
17. She accepted and understood exactly who she had been all her life. She
embraced the fact the she was born a lesbian.
She did not TURN lesbian.
Does this site embellish much?

Tell us something we don't know, she said that in her autobiography in 2001.
Six years ago~! And; you don't simply 'turn' gay.
