ERTEGUN IN COMA AFTER FALL

Atlantic Records founder AHMET ERTEGUN is fighting for his life in a coma after falling over at a ROLLING STONES gig. Ertegun, 83, slipped and hit his head backstage while the band were playing at former US President BILL CLINTON's 60th birthday party in New York last Sunday (begs29OCT06). Ertegun, whose record label signed acts including The Rolling Stones, LED ZEPPELIN, RAY CHARLES and ARETHA FRANKLIN, was put into an induced coma before being taken to hospital. A representative for The Rolling Stones says doctors were at first worried Ertegun would not survive. However, the mogul's condition has since stabilised and he has showed signs of recovery.
