EMINEM: SPELL IN REHAB MEANT ME FEEL LIKE BUGS BUNNY
Rapper Eminem has revealed his spell in a rehabilitation clinic made him feel like Bugs Bunny due to other patients' treatment of him.
The Stan star, whose new album Relapse was released on Monday (May 19th), entered rehab for addiction to painkillers and sleeping pills while on a hiatus from music and has rapped openly about his battles with substance abuse.
In an interview with Zane Lowe to be broadcast on Radio 1 on Tuesday evening, the hip-hop icon - real name Marshall Mathers - opened up about the problems of seeking treatment for addiction as a celebrity.
"When I got out I knew I needed to pull back from the spotlight because of the fame thing," he explained.
"I was like Bugs Bunny in rehab, Bugs Bunny walking in the room.
"The second you walk in the room
there were some people who were as supportive as they could be, some people that were like 'I don't look at you as Eminem, I'm seeing you as Marshall'."
Mathers won a best song Oscar for the semi-autobiographical 8 Mile but said his recent experience shooting a cameo experience for upcoming comedy drama Funny People was far more enjoyable.
"I just did a cameo a few months go with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen in a Judd Apatow-produced film," he told Vibe magazine.
"It's called Funny People. I kind of do a cameo in that which was fun by the way. And 8 Mile was not a fun movie to shoot."
