EMI OPENS UP DANCE MUSIC FOR ONLINE DJS

EMI has announced its dance-related catalogue and music from its Positiva label is to be made available for people to use on the DJ mixing site MixAlbum.com.

The website allows consumers to create their own playlists after making a selection of their own tracks.

Users can make as many personalised mixes of their playlists as they like and then copy them to CD or MP3 player for listening to as a fully-mixed dance compilation.

People can also customise their mixes by changing the tempo and choosing between smooth or mashed-up styles.

Music newly available on the site includes tracks from Positiva's artists including Paul Van Dyk, The Shapeshifters and Ferry Corsten.

As the music will be available as digital rights management-free downloads, it can be accessed and used across all devices and platforms including mobile phones.

MixAlbum.com founder Ian Chamings said: "We're delighted to partner with EMI to offer our customers access to all EMI's dance-related catalogue, including the legendary Positiva label.

"For the first time people can download these tracks as singles and then create mixes of their chosen playlists, just with the click of a button."
