ELTON 'TOO GAY' FOR TOBAGO
Church leaders in Trinidad and Tobago have banned SIR ELTON JOHN from the country – in case he turns people gay.
Phillip Isaac, the archdeacon of the Caribbean country, has claimed that Elton's campness may be infectious and might tempt locals to turn homosexual if he performs at the Plymouth Jazz Festival next month.
Elton was due to attend the concert in April, but a clause in the immigration laws in the country means that the ROCKET MAN singer could be turned away at passport control for being gay.
Archdeacon Isaac said: "The artist is one of God's children and while his lifestyle is questionable he needs to be ministered unto.
"His visit to the island can open the country to be tempted towards pursuing his lifestyle."
He added that Elton's marriage to DAVID FURNISH does not conform to "biblical teachings" and that a "man should not lie with a man".
The strong homophobic contingent on the island of Tobago has also recently bombarded local radio stations with calls, demanding the singer be kept out of the country.
However, the organisers of the concert maintain Elton is still down to perform at the gig.

I am so disgusted... as a young Tobagonian(from Tobago) the level of hypocrisy
& ignorance is appalling & quite disturbing... Those pastors need to listen to
The Chief Secretary of The Tobago House of Assembly and put their energies into
more pressing issues.
SIR ELTON IS A GREAT PERFORMER & THAT IS WHAT HE IS COMING TO DO!!! How the
hell could Sir Elton John tempt us???... and the homosexual lifestyle abounds
everywhere.. TV, Radio, Internet.. & IN THOSE VERY CHURCHES...steups... Please
ppl..do not generalize and stereotype all Tobagonians...it is just a small sect
of society...who is giving everyone a bad name with their cynical attitude and
narrow-mindedness!!! I know I speak on behalf of the majority when I
say...bring him... tickets are sold out...& all flights are booked... that
should say something!!! This is the 3rd year of the festival & to have Sir
Elton is indeed an honour!!! Tobago Jazz is only going to get bigger and
brighter!!!
