ELTON REMEMBERS FORMER KEYBOARD PLAYER
ELTON JOHN has paid tribute to his longtime keyboard player GUY GRAHAM BABYLON who died in hospital in California earlier this month (Sep09).
A former competitive swimmer, the Grammy Award-winner died of arrhythmia. He was 52.
In a tribute on his website, Elton wrote, "I am devastated and heartbroken at the death of Guy Babylon. He was one of the most brilliant musicians I ever knew, a true genius, a gentle angel - and I loved him so much."
A Baltimore, Maryland native, Babylon performed with the British rocker for 20 years. He shared a Grammy with Elton and Tim Rice for orchestrating Broadway musical Aida.
