ELTON JOHN SLAMS FLORAL FALSEHOODS
Pop superstar SIR ELTON JOHN has rubbished reports he insists his dressing room is swamped in blooming roses before performing. The singer, who once admitted spending more than $18,000 (GBP10,000) a month on flowers, stands accused by a Dorset, England florist of ordering a mass of specially cut flowers to adorn his room before his Saturday (01JUL06) show. Bournemouth florist DAVID SHIRES says the singer has specifically requested the red and white roses be leaf-free, with the stalks hiding in eight inch (20 centimetre) vases. However, a spokesman for the star says the allegations are "completely untrue". He adds, "He doesn't even use a dressing room. He goes straight in and flies straight out again."
