ELTON + ALLEN'S WAR OF WORDS AT AWARDS CEREMONY

Legendary rocker ELTON JOHN embarked on a war of words with pop star LILY ALLEN as the pair hosted this year's (08) GQ Men Of The Year Awards in London.
The pair was co-hosting the event at the city's Royal Opera House on Tuesday (02Sep08) night and took to the stage together to hand out the evening's honours.
But fiery John grew impatient with Allen, who reportedly drank champagne throughout the ceremony and grew more intoxicated while on stage.
The Rocket Man star finally lost it with the singer after she allegedly began slurring her words and ad-libbing the scripted dialogue, according to Britain's Daily Mail.
When the 23-year-old told the audience, "And now for the most important part of the night...", John quipped, "What? Are you going to have another drink?"
Allen was infuriated with comment, and lashed out at the ageing rocker, shouting, "F*** off Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!"
But an angry John wouldn't be outdone by the star, replying, "I could still snort you under the table."
In a bid to end the on-stage argument, in front of a shocked audience including supermodel Elle MACPherson and Mark Ronson, Allen fired back, "F*** off. I don't know what you are talking about."
