ELBOW PICK UP TWO IVOR NOVELLO AWARDS
Elbow have followed up their recent Mercury Music Prize with two Ivor Novello awards.
The indie band won the award for best song musically and lyrically for One Day Like This and the best contemporary song for Grounds For Divorce.
Other winners announced at the ceremony in London's Grosvenor House Hotel yesterday included The Ting Tings, Duffy and Coldplay.
The former picked up the best album award, while Coldplay won the best selling song award for Viva La Vida and Duffy's Mercy was named the most performed work.
Speaking at the award ceremony on Thursday, Elbow's frontman Guy Garvey paid tribute to his band-mates: "If nothing else ever happens to me in my whole life, these four boys have made the whole thing worth every single second."
Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood was also awarded the best original film score prize for There Will Be Blood.
