EKLAND WAS 'ACCIDENTAL' BOND GIRL
BRITT EKLAND accidentally landed the coveted role of a BOND girl in 1974's THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, after auditioning for another part in the hit film.
The 65-year-old appeared in front of producers to try out for a minor role in the Roger Moore-starring James Bond film.
But movie bosses were so impressed by her physique, they gave her the more high profile role of Mary Goodnight, which became her most famous film outing of her career.
She says, "When I auditioned for The Man With The Golden Gun I was up for the part of the bad guy's mistress. But the director has seen a picture of me in a bikini and decided I should be the Bond girl Mary Goodnight instead. It was great fun. It was the best job I ever had."
