Hairspray - Efron's E.R. School Shame

HAIRSPRAY star ZAC EFRON insists he'll never offer to show his friends footage of him acting, after he was ridiculed when he once took a videotape of a small E.R. role into school. The 19-year-old was horrified when a teacher screened his performance in a 2003 episode of the TV show to all his classes. He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I made the huge mistake of bringing the tape into school because one of my teachers asked to see it. "I found out after my period that he had shown it to every single class. I was open to so much ridicule. It was embarrassing. "After that, I was like that weird actor kid at school. It singled me out. "(Now) I will never offer to show anyone any of my work. It's hard enough for me to invite friends to my premieres."
