Ed Westwick was joined by friends and girlfriend Jessica Szhor to celebrate his 22nd birthday on Saturday (27.06.09).

Ed Westwick was surprised by his girlfriend at his 22nd birthday celebrations on Saturday (27.06.09).

The 'Gossip Girl' hunk reportedly kissed and cuddled his girlfriend Jessica Szhor all evening as they partied with close friends at New York's Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge bowling alley at the weekend.

A guest said: "Ed and Jessica were close and cuddly all night. Everyone was friendly, having a lot of fun and were in good spirits."

The actor - who has been dating Jessica since they met on the set of the US show - was joined by a host of friends, including 'Gossip Girl' co-star Blake Lively.

The group tucked into homemade cupcakes - topped with cookie dough, sweets, peanut butter, sprinkles and with 'HB ED' piped on top - as Ed blew out a single candle and gave a brief speech.

The source added: "Everyone sang 'Happy Birthday', Ed thanked everyone for coming and kissed Jessica - they were adorable. Everyone bowled casually throughout the night, but no one really finished a game."

After their half-hearted attempts at bowling, the group reportedly danced to Kings of Leon and Notorious B.I.G. until the early hours of the morning.
