Country music star STEVE EARLE has praised immigrants in New York, crediting them with making the city great. The Manhattan resident insists the city's residents take foreign workers for granted. He tells Relix magazine, "Are you going to cycle down f**king Fifth Avenue in the rain to bring some yuppie their Chinese food? Yeah right." Earle adds his second favourite symbol of New York is its subway system: "I can walk a block from my apartment in either direction - east or west - and go down a hole in the ground, and go anywhere in the world."
