DYLAN ASKED FOR I.D. BY BAFFLED POLICE
BOB DYLAN's celebrity hasn't reached certain parts of New Jersey - he was treated like an unknown by police in Long Branch last month (Jul09).
Details just emerging suggest a concerned resident phoned the police to report a mysterious stranger in the neighbourhood - and the authorities decided to check him out.
Dylan, who was in town preparing for a concert on 23 July (09) in nearby Lakewood, was apprehended by police, who asked the folk-rock legend for identification.
The singer/songwriter wasn’t carrying any, so police took him back to his hotel, where tour staff vouched for him and no charges were filed, according to U.S. news show Access Hollywood.

Poor guy! For decades he`s unable to walk down a street without being hassled
by admirers then, when he finally feels free enough to go for a stroll in a
public place he gets lifted.... thanks to some nutty neighbour....I wonder what
he was doing that made him appear "suspicious"....looking around? Most of us
couldn`t begin to imagine what that lack of freedom must entail. Surely no
amount of money could compensate for how restricting such a lifestyle must be.
I imagine Bob wishes from time to time that he could morph into a regular guy
and be able to walk down a street without people acting as though he were
public property, and that`s probably what he was trying to do that day. It`s
just as well he has a sense of humour as if it weren`t so sad, it would be
comical!
