DURITZ APOLOGISES TO BANDMATES FOR ALBUM DELAY

COUNTING CROWS frontman ADAM DURITZ apologised to his bandmates when they started recording their latest album, because his disinterest was to blame for the five-year gap since their last disc. Duritz took time off following the release of 2002's Hard Candy, and admits he's the reason it took so long to follow that record up with Saturday Nights, Sunday Mornings, due out in November (07). The 43-year-old tells Billboard.com, "I told everybody at the beginning of the record, it was my fault. "I took off for the last few years, but there isn't any more free ride here. Everybody's ass is grass. We're going to be a great band or we're not going to be a band."
