DURAN DURAN'S KAISER HOPE

Duran Duran enjoyed collaborating with Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson on several songs for their forthcoming new album.

Duran Duran expect big things from their Kaiser Chiefs collaboration.

The group are currently in the studio with producer Mark Ronson and are delighted with their recent writing session with the 'I Predict A Riot' hitmakers' drummer Nick Hodgson.

Keyboardist Nick Rhodes said: "We did half a day's writing with Nick from the Kaiser chiefs, which was fun. He's a friend of Mark's and he thought we'd be able to do something different with him.

"We got some really good things from it actually, it's not finished yet but they'll definitely make the album."

The 'Rio' star also revealed they have to keep an eye on Mark around the musical equipment in the studio.

He added to BANG Showbiz: "Mark is just producing but he did have some shakers out the other day and you've got to watch him around those.

"There won't be a brass section on the record unlike things Mark's done before - but he did say he wants it to sound like Duran Duran."

Duran Duran play Edinburgh Castle on July 16 and the Lovebox Weekender in London, which takes place between July 18-19.

Tickets for the latter are available from www.lovebox.net.
