Veteran pop stars DURAN DURAN will become the first band to broadcast live concerts in the Second Life virtual gaming world later this year (06). The A VIEW TO A KILL hitmakers will have a potential audience of 370,000 players in the 3D online environment. The gamers also had the opportunity to visit an island created by BBC Radio 1 in May (06), where the station recreated its One Big Weekend event. Keyboardist NICK RHODES says, "Second Life has brought a third dimension to the internet; it is the new frontier where dreams have become reality. "When the video revolution began we instantly saw the opportunity to experiment and explore a new form of expression to enhance the musical experience.
