DUFFY'S CD RECORDED ON A BUDGET
Singer DUFFY's hit album ROCKFERRY cost almost nothing to make.
The Welsh star's debut disc has topped the charts all over the world and sold more than three million copies worldwide, but the 24-year-old admits it was recorded on a budget.
She says, "Nobody ever gave Bernard (producer Bernard Butler) any money to work with me. It was all done on a shoestring. The album took nearly four years to make. We had to hire cheap, tiny studios and sometimes there would be three-week periods between writing and recording.
"When I was writing it I never knew what my fate was... At times we wondered if it would ever be released. I'm just this girl from Wales - it could have done nothing and I could have faded into obscurity."
