DUFFY WROTE SONGS TO COPE WITH SMOKING BAN
Welsh star DUFFY fine-tuned her songwriting skills while working in a gas station.
The Mercy singer wasn't allowed to smoke during her eight hour shifts at the garage - and so she put all her nervous energy into biting her nails and writing songs that would one day propel her to stardom.
She says, "As a teenager I had a tendency to light the occasional cigarette, but I couldn't when I worked in the gas station - in case I set it on fire."
