DRESS DRAMA AT BASSEY SHOW

DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY was left red faced during a show in New York when her musical director had to re-dress her onstage following a wardrobe malfunction.
The Goldfinger singer was performing at the Waldorf Astoria hotel when a strap broke on her gown and it fell to the floor.
Ever the professional, Bassey kept on singing as she caught her falling dress - and her musical director came to her rescue, and fixed the garment.
She says, "I was singing The Lady Is A Tramp, funnily enough, and the strap went. I didn't miss a beat, I just held the dress and my musical director... the gown was red and he happened to notice a red napkin and he was trying to do me up and I was still singing and he tried to do me up at the back. It was hysterical.
"I kept on singing. In the end, he finally got me done up."
