DOWNEY JR. TAKING TIPS FROM MARTIN
ROBERT DOWNEY JR. shed the pounds to play the title role in upcoming movie SHERLOCK HOLMES - on the advice of COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN.
The Iron Man star is currently filming scenes as the fictional detective in a new big-screen adaptation by director Guy Ritchie.
Downey Jnr. has slimmed down considerably for the role - and credits good friend Martin for shaping his portrayal of the iconic supersleuth.
He says, "He's a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. He said to me before we began 'You've got to be gaunt. You've got to be as skinny as you possibly can to play Holmes.' So every time I'm reaching for a muffin I just think about Chris Martin and skip the snack. That's been tough."
