DOUGLAS WINNING BATTLE FOR SLAVERY APOLOGY

Hollywood veteran KIRK DOUGLAS is winning his battle to get African-Americans an official political apology for the institution of slavery.
The Spartacus star has been campaigning for a formal apology for years, urging Congress and presidential candidates to support his fight.
And his efforts appear to have paid off - America's House of Representatives has passed a formal national apology to descendants of those who were brought to the country as slaves from Africa.
Douglas tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "This is the best news I've heard in a long time.
"We will show the world that the strongest nation is capable of humanity."
