DONOVAN: 'I WAS QUITE A HUNK'
Veteran singer DONOVAN spent most of his 60s heyday running away from groupies, because most wanted to cut off his hair with a pair of scissors. The ATLANTIS star was a huge hit with both female and male fans alike. He explains, "What can I say? I was a gorgeous curly-haired, Celtic troubadour. "The most difficult thing about shagging fans in those days is that they'd usually come in packs of 200 and chase me everywhere. They'd all be carrying scissors because they were after a lock of my hair. Most of the time I ran to get away. "Sometimes it was nice to be caught, at least by the one's who weren't wielding scissors. Looking back I was quite a hunk, a very shaggable young man. I even got a lot of interest from gay guys because I sang about things that a man didn't usually sing about."
