Eighties pop heartthrob JASON DONOVAN is grateful his fame has faded, because he hated being a celebrity. The Australian forged a successful pop career after first finding fame in soap opera Neighbours and became a huge star in Australia and Britain. Donovan still performs, but is no longer a household name. He says, "I was never comfortable with people sitting outside my house. I had this one lady who filmed me for about five years, almost every day, which was a bit weird. My status now is exactly how I would like it to be. I can still move around, do things I want to do. I get the recognition where I want to get it."
