DOMINO TO BE HONOURED IN NEW ORLEANS

Singer FATS DOMINO will be the guest of honour at the 12th annual Best Of The Beat music awards at New Orleans, Louisiana's House of Blues later this month (JAN07). The singer, real name ANTOINE DOMINO, will receive a lifetime achievement award at the ceremony on 27 January (07). Domino has returned to live in New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Among those scheduled to appear at the tribute include DR JOHN, ALLEN TOUSSAINT, IRMA THOMAS and ART NEVILLE. New Orleans mayor C RAY NAGIN will also proclaim 27 January (07) 'Fats Domino Day'.
