Opera star PLACIDO DOMINGO is worried close pal LUCIANO PAVAROTTI will never sing again because of his deteriorating health. The Italian tenor, 70, had surgery for pancreatic cancer last week (ends07JUL06) and has had to postpone a British tour while he has chemotherapy this summer (06). Domingo, 66, who sang with Pavarotti as part of celebrated trio THE THREE TENORS, says, "I only found out about the operation on Friday but they tell me he is in good shape now. The news is positive. "I believe he is a strong character and will come through this but I don't know whether he will ever be able to perform again. But I will be happy to see him healthy. If he can sing after this, that would be a bonus."
