DOHERTY REFUSES TO END GIG

BABYSHAMBLES rocker PETE DOHERTY almost caused a riot at a recent gig - after he refused to leave the stage at the end of his show.
The singer left bosses of Southampton Guildhall in south England furious on Sunday (15Mar09) after he ignored the venue's strict 11pm curfew to continue his performance - even after the lights were turned off.
Doherty also openly flouted the U.K. smoking ban by lighting up a cigarette before by hurling objects between himself and the crowd.
A concertgoer tells the U.K. newspaper The Sun, "As we left there was chanting, banging walls and singing. It was like a football match. I’ve never seen a crowd act like that at a gig.”
