Cult British TV show Doctor Who is transforming into a live action stage show for a theatre tour.
The sci-fi series, starring Matt Smith as the latest incarnation of the famous Time Lord, has been turned into a stage spectacular featuring special effects, pyrotechnics and live music from a 16-piece orchestra for a 25-date U.K. tour later this year (10).
The production won't feature the lead actor, but will give fans the chance to see the show's villainous alien entities including Daleks and Cybermen.
Doctor Who's lead writer, Steven Moffat, who has been developing the theatre show, tells Variety.com, "This is everything I ever wanted since I was 11. A live show, with all the coolest Doctor Who monsters, a proper story, and brand new screen material."
The tour kicks off on 8 October (10) in London and wraps in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 7 November (10).
