DMX WALKS FREE FROM PRISON

Troubled rapper DMX is a free man after he was released from an Arizona prison on Wednesday afternoon (13May09).
The hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, walked free from the Maricopa County Jail after serving time on charges of drug possession, animal cruelty and theft, stemming from various arrests in 2008.
He was originally only due to serve 90 days behind bars, but his stay was extended after he allegedly assaulted a corrections officer during his incarceration, reports AllHipHop.com.
DMX was recently ordered to pay $240,000 (£160,000) damages to a man who sued the star after another assault case at a New York airport in 2004. He escaped punishment and was given a conditional discharge for that incident.
