DMX PLEADS FOR EARLY RELEASE FROM JAIL

LATEST: Rapper DMX could be released from jail in just over two weeks after reportedly working out a plea deal on charges of drug possession.
DMX - real name Earl Simmons - is currently behind bars following his arrest for missing a court date earlier this month (Aug08), stemming from drug charges in Arizona.
The rapper was denied his request for bail on Monday (26Aug08) when he appeared at Miami-Dade Circuit Court in Florida.
But according to celebrity website TMZ.com, the Party Up star has worked out a plea deal which would allow him to leave prison in 15 days time.
Under the terms of the alleged agreement, Simmons will be sentenced to time served and a $483 (GBP261) fine.
Simmons is due back in court on 2 October (08).
