LATEST: Troubled rapper DMX has been released from prison in Westchester County, New York State, after posting $25,000 (GBP13,889) in bail money. The hip-hop star - real name EARL SIMMONS - spent just one night (29JUN06) behind bars. He was incarcerated after failing to attend a court hearing for driving charges on Wednesday (28JUN06). Simmons' lawyer STACEY MURRAY claimed her client had fallen ill after flying from Arizona for the court date. On 2 June (06), the rapper was stopped by police for speeding and cutting off another motorist in White Plains, New York State, and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Nine days later (11JUN06), he was issued with a summons for driving on the hard shoulder of a road to avoid congestion in Harrison, New York State. DMX is now scheduled to appear in court on 24 July (06) to answer the charges in White Plains. He also has a court date next week (11JUL06), for the driving infractions in Harrison. In a recent interview with AllHipHop.com, the rapper complained, "Sometimes, they (police) write me up, give me a ticket and I'm like, 'Are you serious? You have to handcuff me just to give me a f**kin' ticket?' "The same thing that makes you laugh, makes you cry. Sometimes I'm drunk doing 150 miles per hour and they let me go."
