DIRECTOR PERELMAN ESCAPES SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES
Ukrainian movie-maker VADIM PERELMAN has been placed on "accelerated rehabilitation" after being accused of sexually assaulting of two women in July (06). The HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG director allegedly groped the women and punched another at a South Norwalk nightclub in Connecticut on 22 July, but escaped a guilty plea at Connecticut Superior Court this week (16OCT06) by agreeing to undertake a special form of probation for first-time offenders. Perelman, who was directing UMA THURMAN film IN BLOOM at the time of his arrest, must instead donate $1,000 (GBP555) to charity and do 100 hours of community service. His lawyer, PAUL CALLAN, tells PageSix.com, "He bears no grudge against the people of Connecticut."
