DILLON: 'AMERICA IS FIGHTING RACISM'

MATT DILLON is encouraged by the steps America is taking to tackle racism, but admits it's still a huge problem in US society. Dillon, who played a prejudiced police officer in race relations drama CRASH, highlights the huge ethnic diversity of his homeland as proof the situation is improving. He says, "It sounds strange but there's something very healthy, something very cathartic about the way America deals with racism because we have such large groups of people from different ethnic backgrounds. "(But) racism in America is obviously a problem. It's something that we have dealt with for decades."
