DIESEL INVITES WANNABE FILMMAKERS TO THE SET OF FAST + THE FURIOUS

Action man VIN DIESEL turned the dreams of Dominican Republic wannabe filmmakers into reality on the set of the new FAST + THE FURIOUS sequel - by inviting them to take part in shooting.
Diesel and the nation's President, Leonel Fernandez, set up a film school in Santa Domingo three years ago - and so when director Justin Lin was scouting for locations, the film star insisted he look there.
And once producers agreed to shoot the film in the Dominican Republic, Diesel started finding his film students jobs on set.
He explains, "We take inner city kids and put them through a six-week course in filmmaking.
"We were able to take some of the students and have them work on this major film. It was incredible."
Diesel is returning to a lead role in the Fast + The Furious film franchise as Dominic Toretto after sitting out the first sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and making an uncredited appearance in third movie Tokyo Drift.
