DIDDY'S GROUP IN COPYRIGHT CASE
The band SEAN COMBS handpicked in MTV's MAKING THE BAND 4 in 2007 is facing a lawsuit over alleged copyright infringement.
Bad Boy Records, which is owned and founded by Combs, has received a notice from singer Kirby Shields against the group Day 26.
The artist claims the band's single Just Getting Started, released in April (09), is "identical" to his track I'm Just Getting Started, according to TMZ.com.
Shields says Day 26's alleged copycat song was produced by Christian Davis Stalnecker - the same producer he hired to work for him "exclusively" in 2007.
No further details of the suit were available as WENN went to press.
