The Titanic star was sightseeing in the country and joined a group of fellow Americans on a day out to a hilltop holy monument in Kyoto, but allegedly upset his fellow holidaymakers after refusing to pose for snaps with fans.
And the tourists got their revenge for the snub - by running off with the actor's Nike trainers after he removed them to step inside the temple, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
A source tells the publication, "They just ran off with them. The poor guy had to leave the place barefoot."
